Information: Beef Week provides an opportunity for Ian and Jill Coghlan to present their Eurimbla Reds. Ian and Jill began breeding Red Polls in1974 and in 2008 added Shorthorns to the program. Two very functional and efficient breeds are being managed to produce commercially orientated bulls and females to provide a better bottom line. Eurimbla cattle are constantly being assessed through carcase competitions, paddock and feedlot weight gain trials, BREEDPLAN and discerning buyers. An excellent selection of ET and home bred sale bulls and females will be on display.

Information: Our focus is to breed and market docile cattle that perform consistently from conception to plate, highly fertile with a strong emphasis on calving ease. We then look for a balance of EBVs in milk, growth, carcase weight, EMA and IMF to deliver an animal that grades highly on MSA. For the past six years we have provided eight individual sires to the MLA-Hereford Progeny Test program for use over commercial cows with the steer progeny finished and MSA graded. Results to date are promising with our first three sires’ purebred progeny grading in the top 5% of the MSA index. This independently benchmarks our genetics.
